Quality Control

Back in 2009 La Machine Shop was awarded our first ISO certification. This was a significant undertaking that really propelled us into becoming a world-class precision machining company. Our systems and performance improved through diligent documentation, quality control and auditing.

In 2016 as a valued supplier to our customers in the aerospace industry, we pursued and earned our ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D quality management system certification. We are proud to continue to receive high marks from our external auditors in regards to maintaining a robust and mature QMS.

Part Inspection Processes

Our inspection procedures include the use of, first piece inspection, control plans, in-process and final inspection. Each operation must meet the customer requirements in the first piece inspection before production is allowed. In process inspection is done throughout the production run to insure consistency and process stability. Although, dimensional adherence is very important, visual inspection for burrs and blemishes can be just as important and must be inspected.

PPAP/Process FMEA

Production Part Approval Processes (PPAP) required elements often include a Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA) .La Machine Shop’s Quality Assurance Department will perform a PFMEA which looks at each process step to identify risks and possible errors from many different sources. These sources can include methods, material, machinery, measurements, and people or the environment.

CMM Inspection Services

The Zeiss DuraMax gives us the performance and reliability necessary in today’s fast paced environment. Our quality department is skilled in performing quality checks using this machine that is just not possible with a manual CMM or hand held gages. Equipped with a scanning sensor from ZEISS, it can even be used to capture contours and freeform surfaces.

Quality Management System Software

We are equipped with an all-inclusive and integrated QMS software called UniPoint Software. This system allows us to input data for NC and CPA reports, control documents, keep track of customer service notifications, and it has a robust auditing platform. Best of all, it is integrated with our job production software.
